Having been a café owner for 20 years, Bret Coladner has extensive experience in customer service. He is accustomed to hard work and long hours, and has the organizational skills to keep a business running. He specializes in residential rental and sales, as well as commercial real estate, and enjoys being an informative resource for his clients.

A  graduate of Long Island University Southampton College, Bret spent 20 years as the owner and operator of the Brooklyn Grind, a college campus espresso café on the Brooklyn campus of Long Island University. Before that, he lived in Japan for almost six years working as an English teacher, and was a stockbroker in California.

Though extremely business savvy, Bret is first and foremost a genuine person. “I will, and have always, done whatever it takes to make my customers happy. Whether preparing a cup of cappuccino exactly how they liked it or finding the perfect home in a community they covet, I find a way to fulfill my customers wants and desires.”

Bret is a Chatham resident. He has been married for 25 years and has a daughter who just graduated from college, plus he has a beautiful Bernese Mountain dog, Lilly, with whom he shares his home. He speaks passable Japanese, loves outdoor sports like fishing and snowshoeing, and is an avid bicycle rider who has cycled around Japan and parts of Indonesia. In his free time, you can find Bret out exploring the environs of Columbia County on his bike or at home tending to his vegetable garden.
